Secondary education: towards the resumption of half-time classes for the 2020/2021 school year

In each class, the numbers should not exceed 50 places in order to respect social distancing against the coronavirus.

In Cameroon, the hypothesis of double-flow courses, i.e. in half-time mode for the 2020/2021 school year is being studied. The proposal was formulated by the Minister of Secondary Education Pauline Nalova Lyonga Pauline Egbe. It was last August 17, during a meeting with regional and departmental delegates

Except that this reform raises some questions according to Roger Kaffo, the president of the National Autonomous Union of Secondary Education (Snaes). “In principle, taking into account the indigent state of education, there is no other possibility than to go to courses not part-time but double-flow in the large cities of regions and regions. departments. "He said this Wednesday, September 2, 2020 on Equinoxe radio antennas.as last August 17, during a meeting with regional and departmental delegates.

Coronavirus despair forces girls across Asia into child marriage

Tens of thousands of girls across Asia are being forced into child marriage by desperate families plunged into poverty because of the coronavirus pandemic, as campaigners warn that years of progress tackling the practice is being undone.

Child marriage has long been practised as part of tradition in communities from the Indonesian archipelago to India, Pakistan and Vietnam, but numbers had been decreasing as numerous initiatives worked to spread awareness of its dangers and encouraged access to education and women's health services.

Cameroon - Barbarian assassinations of women / Ms. Abena Ondoa (Minister for the Promotion of Women and the Family): “Beyond the horror and terror that their executioners believe to sow, women still have enough strength to denounce these heinous crimes ”

The member of the government announces psychosocial support for the families of the victims.

We had not heard much from this ministerial department since the start of the abuses against women in the North West and South West regions. However, the Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family (MINPROFF) is primarily concerned by the situation.

Marie Thérèse Abena Ondoa, who heads that department, organized the 1 st September in Yaounde, a public denunciation of action of atrocities on women by armed gangs in the English-speaking regions but also in the Far North of the country the Boko Haram group is rampant.

In the space of a year, Cameroonian opinion has experienced, through unbearable images, the savage assassinations of three women in the English-speaking area: Florence Ayafor , Comfort Tumasssang and Treasure Mbah . Crimes which have always aroused indignation.

Côte d'Ivoire : les candidatures de Laurent Gbagbo et Guillaume Soro peuvent-elles aboutir ?

In the wake of Alassane Ouattara, Henri Konan Bedié and Pascal Affi N'Guessan, Guillaume Soro and Laurent Gbagbo submitted on Monday their candidacy for the Ivorian presidential election on October 31. However, the two heavyweights of Ivorian politics were both struck off the electoral rolls. Explanations.

Within a few hours, they could almost have made their voices heard together. From dawn on Monday, August 31, dozens of fans of former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo gathered near the headquarters of the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI), in Abidjan, under the watchful eye of the forces of the order deployed for the occasion. And, at midday, it was the support of Guillaume Soro who invaded the surroundings of the institution. The teams of Laurent Gbagbo and his former Prime Minister have thus submitted their candidacy for the presidential election on October 31.
